Are you looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity? At The Lehigh County Humane Society, one person can make a big impact on the lives of hundreds, if not thousands of homeless pets.
Volunteer dog walkers come to the shelter twice a week to exercise and socialize our dogs.
KINDNESS MATTERS...
Kindness DOES matter to the dogs that are resting comfortably on their Kuranda dog beds in the shelter's Small Dog Room.
Shelter volunteers Joe and Nancy Hlatky learned of the shelter's wish to provide Kurandas for the shelter's resident dogs and they immediately spearheaded a campaign to turn that wish into reality.
Thanks to the kindness of the Hlatkys, to Lou and Bonnie Nesley and Robinson and Robinson Inc.,every dog in the small dog room now "owns" a Kuranda. Pictured here are Delilah, Cheech and Isabella enjoying the afternoon sun while lounging on their comfy beds.

Wednesday, April 11th, 2012 was our first day of our cat socialization program.
Local dog trainer Kathy Trexler recently visited the shelter to conduct a "refresher course" in basic, positive dog training techniques. We were delighted and amazed at the wonderful way our more "free-spirited" dogs responded to basic commands, thus confirming our belief that great pets can be found at the LCHS! We greatly appreciated Kathy's efforts on the shelter's behalf.

Ms.Honochick left a legacy of kindness to the animals at the Humane Society. She will be sorely missed by all of us who had the benefit of her friendship.
